The Daughter of Babylon – The prophecy of Isaiah

Isaiah is considered a major prophet of the Old Testament who lived at the time of King Uzziah (790-739 BC) in the eighth century. The book of the bible that we will examine is named after him.

In the book of Isaiah, we see the first descriptive prophecy of this mysterious entity known as the “Daughter of Babylon.” One must remember that there are three “Babylon’s” that are spoken of in the Bible; ancient Babylon, where the Israelites were taken to in captivity and slavery. Then there is “Mystery Babylon” which we know is Jerusalem because it is described as the city where our Lord and Savior was crucified. The third and final Babylon is known as, “The Daughter of Babylon” and is a mysterious entity known for her wicked reputation in the “Last days” right before the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Many people hold to the view that all three entities are one country or city, and it is the Vatican in Rome. Though the Vatican may fit some descriptions, it does not fit them all, especially those that deal with technology that would not arrive till hundreds of years later.

Let us now look at that those descriptions that Isaiah gives in the Old Testament (now on referred to simply as OT).

Isaiah 13:5 - They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even Jehovah, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

This “End Days” Babylon will be destroyed by enemies from a far land. Right now Russia, China, and even Iran have vowed to destroy the “Great Satan” that is making life miserable for them.

Here is an article where Russian state television personality threatens to annihilate America with nuclear weapons, and claims, “It will be so large, they will see the mushroom cloud in Mexico.”

Though this is a television personality, they do not talk like this without authorization from the government. Also Putin, tongue in check has said the same thing over the last couple of years and Medvedev just threatened to annihilate Germany if they send depleted uranium to Ukraine to be used in weapon systems.^{4, 5}

Isaiah 13:6 – Isaiah refers to this Babylon as an “End Time Great Nation.”

Right now, in world history America is known as the greatest nation on Earth with its military, powerful federal government, news media, wealth, and entertainment industry. Other nations have what we have, but not as powerful, wealthy, or well known as America.

Isaiah 13:22 – “And wolves shall [h]cry in their castles, and jackals in the pleasant palaces.”

In this Bible verse we get a brief glimpse at the beautiful architecture of this modern-day Babylon.

Isaiah 14:4-6 -  that thou shalt take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the [a]golden city ceased! 5 Jehovah hath broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers; 6 [b]that smote the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, that ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that none restrained.

The king of this modern-day Babylon will rule from the great city of Babylon which we now know is New York City.

Does anybody know a past president who hails from New York City and is set to run again for president of the United States?

That is right, Donald J. Trump!

Isaiah 14:7 - How hath the oppressor ceased! the [a]golden city ceased! 5 Jehovah hath broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers; that smote the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, that ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that none restrained.

In this Bible verse you can read how Babylon rules the world from the Great City of Babylon.

If we can conclude that America is the modern-day Babylon, then what city is a “Great City” where the leader of this country rules the world?

New York City of course! New York City is the home of the United Nations a body of countries that vote on rules and actions that affect countries all over the world, including sanctions, military actions, and even educational, and nutritional issues.

The United Nations is believed to be by many who have worked there or dealt with them in any way, to be nothing more than a “US plaything.” The United Nations just recently voted to get Russia to leave Ukraine without looking into the charges that Russia made against Ukraine.

Isaiah 14:20 – Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, thou hast slain thy people; the seed of evil-doers shall not be named for ever.

This verse makes it clear that Babylon destroys her land so that it becomes unlivable. This never happened in ancient Babylon, the country and city of Babylon was abandoned to never be occupied again. But this does describe America. Just ask those that lived in the 1970’s Love Canal, those who lived near Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, or those that lived in Commerce City, Colorado near the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, or those that lived near Rocky Flats nuclear processing plant in unincorporated Jefferson County, Colorado, or any other number of Super Fund clean-up sites around America. Between Super-Fund sites and contaminating the rivers with chemicals from leaking plants, sewage releases and other contamination, America is nearly uninhabitable at this point and time in its history.

Isaiah 18:1 – “Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia.”

In this verse you can plainly read that this Babylon is a leader in aviation. Remember the Wright Brothers of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. These two pioneered heavier than air aircraft flight that spawned the industry of flight we have today in this country and around the world. Remember that happened right here in America. Just one more piece of evidence that America is indeed the Daughter of Babylon.³

Isaiah 18:2 – “that sendeth ambassadors by the sea, [c]even in vessels of papyrus upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation [d]tall and smooth, to a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation [e]that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers [f]divide! Isaiah 18:2 – Has a unique and remarkable beginning, different from other nations and has awe-inspiring from its conception.”

This Bible verse shows the remarkable beginning of this modern-day Babylon which started differently than other nations, but was also terrible from her beginning.

Isaiah 18:2 – Babylon is nation “peeled”, or timbered, a land of open fields.

Isaiah 18:2 – Babylon is a land quartered by mighty rivers.

Below is a map of the major river systems in America. Notice how they divide America up into “quarter” sections.²

Isaiah 18:2 – Babylon is a land that is measured out, and populated throughout.

The above Bible verse shows us that this modern-day Babylon is populated equally throughout her borders from east to west and north to south. This is America, but other countries might also fit with this description, but taken with all the other descriptions can only be America.

Isaiah 18:2 - Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation [d]tall and smooth, to a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation.

In this Bible verse there are those might be offended that I refer to a verse that calls America; “A people terrible from the beginning onward, a nation.”

Yet, I am sure that I can get Native Americans, blacks, and some whites who were kept as slaves to agree with me that America has a very dark and violent beginning. A beginning that encompasses more than one area of the American experience.

Isaiah 47:1 - Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

In this verse we find that The Daughter of Babylon is a virgin nation that remains untouched by war unlike other nations around the world. This is clearly describing America as even though she has been at war for most of her existence, she has never had enemy armies on her land.

Isaiah 47:13 – (continued) ”Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels.”

All one has to do is turn on the evening news to hear about the latest babbling nonsense about President Biden or Congress fighting over the budget. Other stories you hear will be how trash is piling up in cities, or the backlog of criminal cases because there is not enough assistant district attorneys to prosecute them. The US and states governments inability alone to maintain their infrastructure from fixing potholes, to replacing aging natural gas lines, should tell you that Isaiah is talking about us in this verse. The government at all levels in the US are breaking down and cannot operate and this was predicted thousands of years ago.

Isaiah 47:5, 7 – Babylon would be a Queen among the nations.

America has always been called a “Lady” or a “Queen” by other nations. Other nations may from time to time be called a lady or queen, but never constantly and never without the symbol of a woman like America.

Isaiah 47:7-8 - And thou saidst, I shall be mistress forever; so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end thereof.

8 Now therefore hear this, thou that art given to pleasures, that [a]sittest securely, that sayest in thy heart, I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

In these verses, Isaiah is making it clear that Babylon believes that she can do whatever she wants and nothing bad will happen to her. She does not consider her end at all. You can see this Bible verse play out in the media where American officials make threats everyday to Russia, China, Iran, and now Lyndsay Graham is openly threatening Mexico on nightly news television! The Bible verse also makes it clear that she dwells carelessly before the Lord.

Even though the majority of Americans claim to have some kind of faith, they are very careless in the way they treat God and risk everyday his vengeance on their reckless behavior.

Isaiah 47:5, 8 – Is the lone superpower.

There is no doubt that this is referring to America as no other nation is recognized in modern day society as a superpower but America.

Isaiah 47:8 - 8 Now therefore hear this, thou that art given to pleasures, that [a]sittest securely, that sayest in thy heart, I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children.

Israel says that there is “no one else besides me.” This alludes to the idea that Americans think America is the new Israel and that is why she thinks that judgment reserved for others and not for her.

Sound crazy? Go down to Colorado Springs, Colorado and listen to the Christians there talk about how they believe that America is the new Israel and Colorado Springs the new city of Jerusalem. I’ve been down there to those churches and can attest to the fact that this kind of thinking is prevalent throughout the Christian community down there, even if they don’t advertise it on their Christian television shows.

In fact it is known that there are more churches per square in Colorado Springs than any other city in America! Cause IQ states that there are over 1,051 religious organizations in Colorado Springs. The article also states that between these organizations they have 993 billion in revenue and a combined wealth that is over a billion dollars, and employ almost 1,000 people. That should tell you that Colorado Springs figures predominately in America and the Bible verses about its religious affiliations.⁸

Isaiah 47:7, 9 – Babylon is called a lady, and has the symbol of the Lady.

I’ll one has to do is visit New York City and look out into the harbor to see the Statute of Liberty and what she stands for to recognize America for what it is.

Isaiah 47:10 -  For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness; thou hast said, None seeth me; thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee, and thou hast said in thy heart, I am, and there is none else besides me.

This verse shows that this modern-day Babylon has a wide breadth of knowledge, but Isaiah says that this knowledge will not save her in the end days.

There is no doubt that this is speaking of America. America has more colleges than any other single country on the planet from local community colleges to junior colleges, to four-year colleges and even universities which are a combination of individual colleges. Then there are the technical schools that permeate our cities and now even strictly online schools and courses!

Isaiah 47:13 – “Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels.”

In this verse, Isaiah tells us that this modern-day Babylon is ruled by “many counsels.” As you know, the United States is divided up into states, that are then divided up into counties and then cities! Each level has its own governmental structure. The state level resembles the US government with a legislature, judicial, and executive branch, with the only difference being that the states have governors instead of a president, and counties have a county executive or manager, and the cities have mayors and city councils that mirror legislatures at the state and federal level.

Isaiah 47:12-13 - Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast labored from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

This verse is clearly telling us that Babylon uses sorcery to rule the country and the world and has since her very beginning. For many, you only know about the rumors that former first lady, Nancy Reagan used astrology to run the White House for husband, President Ronald Reagan, but what you may not know is that the Founding Fathers of America were Masons and were steeped in the occult. I don’t have enough room in this article to show you the evidence but go to Amazon and look up “America’s secret history” and there is no shortage of books with evidence to convince you that this country has been ruled from its inception with astrology, and occultist beliefs.

Isaiah 47:12-13(continued) - Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast labored from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

Also obvious in this verse is the fact that modern day Babylon (America) has many religions that are practiced within her borders that contradict one another and lead to “confusion.”

All one has to do is going to any major city and drive around to see Jewish Synagogues, Christian churches of numerous denominations that claim they are the right one, Muslim Mosques, Hindi and Buddhist temples, not to mention purely commercial enterprises masquerading as churches such as the Church of Scientology, and others. There are also occult type religions such as “The Process Church, Jim Jones (defunct since the 70’s), and too many others to list here. Then if your so inclined, you can find Satanic churches as well in large cities throughout America.

Isaiah 47:9 - but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.

In this verse we will deal with the “sorceries and great abundance of thine enchantments.”

In America we see the occult and sorceries in everything from books, to television, movies, and even music.

As far as enchantment goes, it can mean this:

“The sense of wonder or delight”

This “enchantment” can mean being entranced by spells, omens, etc. To be enchanted in the case of modern day Babylon probably means both legal and illegal drugs. America is not only a powerful and wealthy nation, it is a nation with a bad drug habit that stretches back to the Revolutionary war when injured soldiers were given Morphine, only to find out years later that they were addicted. The same thing has happened to soldiers since then, with a strong focus on the soldiers of the Vietnam war.

But it is not just soldiers that have drug habits, Americans are addicted to every kind of drug imaginable, and it is not just crazy teens and street people in a back alley with a crack pipe. Many people who hold down jobs and work forty hour work weeks are also addicted to drugs such as Vicodin, and even alcohol.

The Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) website has tons of data on Americas drug problem, including the fact that we are the largest consumers of both legal and illegal drugs in the world!⁶

This is more evidence that America is the modern-day Babylon that Isaiah saw in his visions.

A strange town

There is one more thing before I go. There is even more evidence that the City of New York is the modern day Babylon, and it is so obvious, I am amazed that people miss it.

On the southwest side of Long Island there is a town of 220,000 people that sits in Suffolk County. It is thirty miles from Manhattan, and you get there by going through Queens and across the Queens border into Suffolk county. Also, in this area of is the township of Amityville (site of the famous movie Amityville Horror), and it also borders Nassau County which has a successfully middle class living standard.

What makes this small city so important is its proximity to New York City, and its name: The City of Babylon!⁷

It is truly a small world after all.
